100 Lives

There are 100 lives we’ve never lived.

The skin, smiles, and tears that would’ve been worn, but aren’t, or weren’t. The alternate endings where things panned out differently, mistakes were made, or mistakes were undone.

It’s both easy and scary to imagine the sunshine of what if. But scarier still to me is what if you weren’t here? Here and now, just the way you are?

You see, I need you here, in this version of reality, where none of the choices were made differently. I need your mistakes and triumphs. I need your surrender and your victory.

We champion each other, and I would never wish for you to be anything other than the you that was meant to be.
